Curiosities of Kingston: Ezra H. Fitch

Before we opened the shop, we spent our weekends exploring. Usually we'd pick a direction, then a town, then head on our way.

That's when Ezra H. Fitch (1865-1930) popped up on our radar. Ezra was the namesake grandson of a prominent Kingston entrepreneur who built a very successful bluestone company (more about that here). Ezra met David Abercrombie at law school in New York City. They became friends, and Ezra bought into Abercrombie's sporting goods store. In 1904, the name evolved to Abercrombie & Fitch, with Ezra eventually buying David out of the business.

Over the years, we've put together a collection of unique memorabilia from those grand old days of retail. We're now offering this collection of curiosities for sale (both online and in-store). You can view here

At Hamilton & Adams, our motto is simple: "stay curious." We believe curiosity is the foundation of creativity and innovation. Our goal is to inspire you to explore and enjoy every day to its fullest. That's why we're featuring this collection of bits and bobs, curiosities and rarities: these items are great conversation starters, yes -- but more than that, they represent who we are, where we've been, and what we value. We hope you enjoy discovering them as much as we enjoyed collecting them.

If you're out and about in Kingston and you want to find some curiosities of your very own, here's a few of our favorite local spots:

Have a fantastic weekend, all -- and don't forget to #staycurious.
