Is there anything as seasonal as a long fall weekend upstate? The warm days and cool nights are prefect for those of us whom like bonfires and some sun bathing. Our region is abundant with activities for those eager to explore nature or merely sample the apples at the nearest farm stand. Long before we started Hamilton & Adams, we yearned for these 3 day weekends to plan new experiences, partake in old favorites, and be a part of our community.
Over the past 3 years on this weekend, we have had an outpost at the Hutton Brickyards. The HBY hosts the semi annual Field + Supply event over the second weekend in October. For those of you who aren't familiar, this event is a modern makers craft fair, with an emphasis on businesses and brands not widely distributed (and often handmade). We were invited to participate in 2017 when we had just opened our shop in Kingston, and have thoroughly enjoyed each event since. This year you can join the event online here. (Don't worry, we're already planning our booth for the Spring event in 2021!)
We've always said our time here in the Hudson Valley is driven by the next meal. While we're having breakfast, we're talking about where we should have lunch and what we might do on our way to a new spot or an old standby. Lunch conversation is, where's dinner? are we cooking? what provisions do we need before we start the evening?
This weekend, take the long way around on your adventures, enjoy the colors of the season change, bask in the sun and curl up by the fire.
